Elroi is a son of a local militia who died in a war in the northern part of Ethiopia. 

He lives with his mother and 2 siblings in a  small rented room with no water and electricity.

After the death of his father, his mother wrestles with life to survive herself and 2 little kids; however, it is hard to get a job for earning to send Elroi and his little brother to school.
